I knew the time would come when I too would be adding one of my own to the growing list of beloved newfs that are crossing the Bridge this year. Ch Beach Bears Old Fashion Girl CGC, Dixie, rode with Tiffany and I to the vets to make the voyage. She is now playing with her mother and all the others that have gone before her. Dixie was our first home bred Champion from my very first litter, my constant car companion, and the first pup Tiffany helped deliver at the "ripe old age" of 7 years. She was Tiff's dog from there on; they were a big hit in the show ring, this 145lb landseer with her 50lb handler. At 9 weeks Dixie attended her first Newfie Parade in Savannah, GA and had been present at every Newfie Parade in St Augustine, FL since. She and her mother are what propelled us into the dog show/newfie world and they have made us some lasting friends over the years. These are the ones I have turned to time and again for support in times like this and I know they will be there to support and console me and grieve with me as I do with them.

     As we watched her leave Tiff said "I was there for her first breath and I am glad I was here with her for her last and all the years in between." We miss you so Dixie and look forward to being with you again in the end.
